Founded as a subsidiary of the Richelsdorf Works in Wildeck, from humble beginnings we have developed over the last 50 years to become one of the leading innovators in façade systems throughout Europe and beyond.

Development of spray plaster

As a development from our earlier coatings business, projects using Alsecco spray plasters can be found as far back as the early 1960s. Many hotels, office buildings and even the athlete’s village of the 1972 Munich Olympics were coated with spray plaster.

1970

First Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS)

Even as far back as 1970, when oil was abundant and the whole issue of damaging greenhouse gases was as yet to be discussed, we started to develop and offer products for the protection and preservation of the environment.

Plasters and ancillary materials for the AAC market

For over 35 years we have worked very closely with the major manufacturers within the AAC market. Specialist fillers and repair kits, lightweight render with low compressive strength, and highly durable coatings have today put us in a market leading position within the AAC community.

1975

The first mineral, non combustible ETICS

With the development of the first non combustible ETICS based on mineral wool, we opened up our offering to a host of new markets particularly in the public sector. The early development of these mineral wool systems and nearly 40 years of experience, shows up today in our expertise and high levels of market penetration

1985

alsecco 1985

Even in the early 1980s we realised that to create attractive façades we needed more than decorative topcoat. The use of ceramic tiles and specialist adhesives and mortars, once again took us out to the head of the pack
